Holiday Greeting - A Day for Gratitude

May 12, 2015

There are many ways to show gratitude for the sacrifices made by the men and women who have died while fighting for our freedom. In 1868, General John Logan issued a Memorial Day Order that said:1

“Let us, then, at the time appointed, gather around their sacred remains and garland the passionless mounds above them with choicest flowers of springtime; let us raise above them the dear old flag they saved from dishonor; let us in this solemn presence renew our pledges to aid and assist those whom they have left among us as sacred charges upon the Nation's gratitude – the soldier's and sailor's widow and orphan.”

Memorial Day is a fine time to offer assistance to a military family that has lost a loved one or contribute to a charity which provides support to fallen service members’ families.

If you find yourself wondering how your loved ones would get by if something happened to you, give us a call. We can help ensure your estate plans are up-to-date.
